The Bangyan Mansion is located on Xiatang Street, Mudu Town, Wuzhong District, Suzhou City. It is the former residence of Feng Guifen, an enlightenment thinker and political commentator in the late Qing Dynasty and a disciple of Lin Zexu. The house faces south and north, with the gate facing Xujiang River. It has a front house and back garden structure, and has a typical garden architectural style of Jiangnan mansions in the early Qing Dynasty.

The front residence still has three entrances, divided into an entrance hall, a main hall, and a main hall. Off the main hall, to the west, are the Flower Basket Hall and the Library. The garden, rebuilt on the ruins of the original site, is centered around a pond, with halls, pavilions, corridors, terraces, bridges, and yellow stone rockery scattered throughout. The entire garden covers nearly ten acres. The second-place scholar's residence boasts three treasures: brick carvings, stone carvings, and wood carvings, known as the Three Sculptures of Jiangnan.
