Huanxiu Villa is located on Jingde Road in central Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. The garden's landscape is dominated by mountains, supplemented by ponds and water, with few buildings. Despite its small size, the garden is imposing and a unique treasure trove of traditional culture, distinctively reflecting the Chinese view of nature and life. The rockery, created by Ge, is particularly remarkable. Covering only half an acre, it offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains, a scene that changes with every step. The main peak rises dramatically in the southeast, while a secondary peak rises in the northwest, surrounded by a winding pond and shaded by lush trees. The main hall of Huanxiu Villa is surrounded by pines, cypresses, crape myrtles, and magnolias.
The most spectacular feature of the park is the rockery built by Ge Yuliang, a truly exceptional creation. Covering just half an acre, it offers a thousand rocks and ravines, each step creating a different scene. The main peak rises dramatically in the southeast, while a secondary peak bows to the northwest, surrounded by winding pools and shaded by verdant trees. The mountain boasts perilous paths, caves, secluded valleys, rocky cliffs, overhanging beams, and precipices, creating a diverse landscape that feels as natural as nature itself.
