Taicang Museum, located at 100 Shanghai East Road in Taicang City, borders Dongting South Road to the east and Banjing Road to the west. It is the only comprehensive local museum in Taicang. The museum houses over 2,000 pieces of ceramics, bronzes, calligraphy and paintings, and jade artifacts. The museum's collection includes a wide range of artifacts, including pottery, porcelain, bronzes, jade, coins, calligraphy and paintings.
The museum also houses five first-class cultural relics, which can be called national treasures, including a sunflower-shaped plate with twined flower pattern in blue and white from the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, a Qing Dynasty letter scroll from the Ming Dynasty, an examination scroll from ancient times to the present day, a complete collection of household necessities from the Ming Dynasty, and a handwritten album of leaves from the tomb of Shi Zhenshi and his wife from the Ming Dynasty; a group of cultural relics related to Zheng He's voyages to the West and maritime transport, such as the epitaph of Shang Hou Shengyuan, deputy captain of the Taicang Guard, a general of the Ming Dynasty, and the epitaph of Zhang, the late concubine of the Ming Dynasty, are of great historical research value and local characteristics; a Yuan Dynasty Longquan kiln celadon lidded jar, a scroll of "Cursive Script Presented to Wang Yanke" by Guizhuang of the Ming Dynasty, a scroll of "Rainy Mountain and Stream" by Sheng Dashi from the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, and a Qing Dynasty blue and white Doucai plate with seawater dragon pattern are extremely precious and rare.
