Osmanthus Park, located in the southeast corner of Suzhou's ancient city, is adjacent to a thriving industrial park. Named after the city's flower, the sweet-scented osmanthus , the park boasts over 260 species of evergreen shrubs, including many rare and valuable species. Osmanthus trees are particularly prominent, and the park boasts the largest variety and quantity of osmanthus trees in China.

So far, there are 62 osmanthus varieties recorded by domestic osmanthus classification experts Xiang Qibai and Liu Yulian , of which 50 are collected in Osmanthus Park , belonging to two major categories: Osmanthus fragrans and Osmanthus frutescens, and four variety groups : Osmanthus fragrans, Osmanthus serrulata, Osmanthus fragrans and Osmanthus frutescens .
