Tianyun Cave, located in Daitou Town, Xiuyu District, is the main peak of Dayan Mountain, rising 398 meters above sea level. Ships entering and leaving the port of Xinghua Bay often use it for navigation. The mountain boasts numerous rock formations, a variety of unusual rocks, numerous caves, and numerous stone sculptures. Among the unique and picturesque rocks are the Stone Fish Drum, Stone Chime, Eighteen Leaping Stones, and East-West Overturned Ship Stones. The stone sculptures of camels, eagles, and dogs are incredibly lifelike and spiritual, seemingly able to speak. The most famous is the "Thirty-Six Dishes," a breathtaking natural grotto in the shape of plates, bowls, dishes, spoons, and other utensils scattered across the several hundred square meters of the boulder's top.
Tianyun Cave, commonly known as Xiangongding by local Putian people, is located on the Dayun Mountain in Wenli, Daitou Town, Xiuyu District. It is famous for its strange peaks, weird rocks, secluded caves, beautiful forests and winding paths. Many halls and pavilions in the area are built against the peaks and walls, and are simple and elegant, each with its own characteristics.
According to legend, Hanshan was originally a huge reef on the seabed in ancient times. Later, due to crustal changes, it rose above the sea surface. After thousands of years of erosion by waves and tides, it became the landscape it is today with a group of rocks, a variety of strange rocks, numerous caves and stone statues.
