Bacheng Old Street, located in the ancient town of Bacheng, was built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (1875-1908). Paved with granite slabs, it stretches 200 meters east-west and is barely wide enough for three people to walk side by side. It was designated a cultural relic protection site by the Kunshan Municipal People's Government in 1997. The old houses on the old street are built along the river, facing the riverside. They are lined up one after another, with whitewashed walls and black tiles, and windows along the river. The stone banks are mottled, and the riverbanks are staggered. The city river (Yanglintang) is clear and boats are bustling, creating a scene of Jiangnan waterside villages.

The sidewalks of the old street (stone-paved street) are narrow, and the buildings of residents and shops on both sides protrude into the street. People can shake hands with each other by opening the windows. The stone slabs on the ground have been worn smooth. The long and narrow old street tells of the traces of the long years everywhere, but the simplicity and elegance still exist.
