Introducing Lingxiao Tower

At the top of Tinglin Garden, No. 1 Ma'anshan East Road, Kunshan, Suzhou, stands the Lingxiao Pagoda, also known as the Supreme Multi-Treasure Pagoda. Some say it was built by Huixiang in the 10th year of the Liang Tianjian reign (511 AD), while others say it was built during the Tang Dynasty. In the 3rd year of the Yuan Dynasty (1299 AD), monks Yanfu and Xifan rebuilt the pagoda. In the 32nd year of the Ming Dynasty (1604 AD), monk Jimo rebuilt the Lingxiao Pagoda into a seven-story structure. The pagoda's most distinctive feature is a wooden pillar rising to the top of the tower, erected in the center of the fourth floor. It is connected to the outer façade by eight radial beams, corresponding to the levels of the tower. This structure is the only one of its kind in China and is extremely valuable.
