Baixian Lake is located between Tongli and Zhouzhuang, two famous ancient water towns in the south of the Yangtze River. It is surrounded by rivers and lakes and runs from northwest to southeast. It is about 5 kilometers long and is commonly known as Baixian River because of the abundance of white clams in the river.

Every evening, the fishing boats return, drop anchor by the river, hang their nets to sell fish, and sing little songs, creating an atmosphere of " Fishermen's Songs at Dusk " .
