Just across a mountain from the cave where Xi Shi lived, they faced each other from east to west. Every sunrise, Fan would climb to the top of the mountain and gaze eastward. To commemorate these two lovers in troubled times, descendants built a wooden tower at the spot where Fan once gazed, called the "Wife-Watching Tower."
