Zhu Ziqing's former residence, located at No. 27 Anle Lane in the old city of Yangzhou , is a typical Yangzhou-style courtyard built in the Qing Dynasty. This is where Zhu Ziqing's parents, children and Mr. Zhu lived for more than ten years before and after they returned to Yangzhou.
Built in the late Qing Dynasty, the former residence remains intact today. It comprises three rooms, two side rooms, one opposite, two guest rooms, a main entrance hall, and a courtyard. Renovations have preserved some of Mr. Zhu's belongings. A bust of Mr. Zhu stands in the main hall, with a painting of " Moonlight over a Lotus Pond " behind it . Above the painting hangs a plaque inscribed by General Secretary Jiang Zemin: " Former Residence of Zhu Ziqing . "
