Yangzhou, formerly known as Guangling, Jiangdu, and Weiyang, has a history of city construction that can be traced back to 486 BC. It is a prefecture-level city in Jiangsu Province, located in central Jiangsu, at the intersection of the Yangtze River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It is known as "the famous capital of the Huai River and the beautiful place of Zhuxi" and has the reputation of "the first canal city in China". It is known as Yang One Yi Two and the Moon City.
The Gaoyou and Yangzhou sections of the Grand Canal of China have been included in the World Heritage List; Yangzhou is listed as one of the eight cities on the China Maritime Silk Road that have been nominated for World Heritage status.

He Garden
It enjoys the reputation of "the first garden in the late Qing Dynasty" and is a famous natural base for filming in China. Nearly 100 film and television dramas such as "Green Grass by the River", "Dream of Red Mansions", "My Fair Princess" sequel, and "Tears in Heaven" were filmed here.

This private garden, originally owned by a Yangzhou salt merchant during the Qing Dynasty, is renowned for its extensive bamboo plantings and its seasonal rockery. It is also renowned for its stone stacking technique, combining bamboo shoots, lake rocks, yellow stones, and Yi stones to create a seasonal rockery that blends the principles of garden design with the art of landscape painting.
