Yang Forest Park was developed by the Yangzhou Municipal Government to support the construction of the Runyang Bridge. The park is located in Guazhou Town, east of the northern link of the bridge and west of the Guazhou Ferry, near the confluence of the former Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and the Yangtze River.
The park is planned to cover approximately 220 hectares, including approximately 150 hectares of green space and 47 hectares of water, for a greening rate of 70%. The first phase, covering 52 hectares, was developed and constructed by the Hanjiang Urban Construction Development Company with a total investment of 425 million yuan. Construction officially began in November 2004 and was fully completed in April 2005. The park will be a 3A-rated wetland park integrating tourism, leisure, vacation, and camping facilities.
The park, the bridge, and the Yangtze River together form a unique tourist attraction in the ancient town. Located along the river, the area boasts a well-preserved wetland environment, dotted with mudflats, swaying reeds, and home to flocks of birds. The suspension bridge, part of the Runyang Bridge's main structure, boasts the longest span in China and the third longest in the world. The entire bridge, a majestic sight, resembles a brilliant rainbow spanning the historic and cultural cities of Yangzhou and Zhenjiang, becoming a unique landmark within the park.
Boasting a subtropical monsoon climate, Runyang Forest Park covers a vast area and is surrounded by numerous bodies of water, boasting a vibrant wetland ecosystem. With 100% forest coverage and a tranquil environment, it offers accommodation in forest cabins and villas. The scenic area is well-equipped for leisure activities and is suitable for a variety of outdoor activities, making it a destination for leisure and vacation. It's a great place to visit in all seasons.
Runyang Forest Park has camping facilities and wooden villas, which are suitable for family outings. You can experience the state of life in the wild, rest, cook, chat and play with children among the green mountains and clear waters, which is a unique experience.
