Located west of Sucheng, Lianyun District, Lianyungang City, and east of Sucheng Reservoir, it is 500 meters north of the scenic Yuntaishan Mountain on the seashore of Lianyungang. The name Baojia Mountain dates back to a long time ago. Legend has it that during his eastern expedition, Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin, was besieged by the Goguryeo general Gaisuwen on this mountain. Fortunately, he took refuge there, commanded his generals and soldiers, and fought Gaisuwen's Goguryeo troops, awaiting reinforcements to repel them, thus escaping disaster. Therefore, the mountain was given the name "Baojia." To this day, the Tang King Cave still remains within Baojia Mountain.
The path leading up the mountain is called Yitiantian, a narrow path cut through the sky. The severely twisted stone patterns on the side of the path reveal how nature manipulated the rocks like dough at the beginning of the world.
From a close perspective, the solitary peak on the left stands tall, like a unique rock created by nature. From afar, Baojia Mountain, framed by the reservoir, resembles a water-rock bonsai, a truly unique and beautiful sight. Atop Baojia Mountain stands the "Four Views Pavilion," offering panoramic views of Sucheng.
Baojia Mountain boasts a temperate monsoon climate with distinct four seasons. The picturesque scenery of Baojia Mountain is captivating in spring, when everything comes alive. In summer, it's a great place to escape the summer heat. April to October is the best time to visit.
