Introducing Jade Maiden Peak

Yunv Peak is located in the Huaguoshan Scenic Area in Lianyun District, Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province. It is a mountain range in northeastern Jiangsu Province, on the outskirts of Lianyungang City. Yunv Peak is composed of discontinuous fault-block mountains: Jinping Mountain, Qianyuntai Mountain, Zhongyuntai Mountain, Houyuntai Mountain, and Yingyou Mountain. The mountain is composed of Pre-Paleozoic metamorphic rocks. The southeast side is gently sloping, while the northwest side is steep. Yunv Peak, at 624.4 meters above sea level, is the highest point in Jiangsu Province.

With the exception of Jinping Mountain, all of these were islands sunk into the sea during the last marine flooding in the Quaternary Period, and were known in ancient times as Yuzhou Mountain or Cangwu Mountain. Due to the accumulation of silt carried by the Yi and Shu Rivers, and the large amount of silt brought by the Yellow River's southward migration into the Huai River, the Huanghuai Delta has been expanding.

Before 1711, Yuntaishan was connected to the mainland. Around 1855, Middle Yuntaishan and Back Yuntaishan also joined the mainland. Yingyoushan now stands alone on the East-West Liandao Island. Shielded by Yingyoushan, Yingyoumen is peaceful and tranquil, making it ideal for harbor construction. A harbor now capable of berthing 10,000-ton vessels has been constructed. The coast near Lianyungang is the only rocky shoreline in Jiangsu Province.

Climate and best time to travel

The temperate monsoon climate creates a breathtakingly beautiful scene in spring, with misty clouds and azaleas dotting the landscape. In summer, the sea breeze brings a refreshing coolness. From the summit, you can take in the panoramic view of the sea. The best time to visit is from March to August.

Recommended number of days and locations for visiting

Climbing to Yunv Peak offers lucky visitors two of Yuntaishan's most spectacular views: one is watching the sunrise over the sea from Yingshu Pavilion; the other is watching Yuntai Mountain spread out over the sea. The rolling white clouds resemble the surging waves of the sea, and the exposed peaks resemble the fairy island of Penglai in the ocean. The mountains are huddled together, and the fields are crisscrossed, creating a scene that makes one feel as if they are floating in the air.

It is recommended to play for about 2 hours.
