Introducing Luopu Park

Luopu Park, a major public welfare project built by the Luoyang Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government for the people of the ancient capital, stretches 16 kilometers along the banks of the Luo River, which flows through the city. The park's north bank, approximately 10 kilometers long and 90 meters wide, is the focal point of the park. It features extensive lawns, 30 activity plazas, 14 historical and cultural plazas, 10 specialized botanical gardens, and other architectural features.

The south bank scenic area is 70 meters wide and primarily features plantations. Paths, rest plazas, and garden features will be added in the future. Four rubber dams are planned across the Luo River, creating a 600-800-meter wide surface area suitable for national rowing competitions. Small islands and peninsulas will be strategically located within the river, interspersed with garden features, creating a water park.

A visit to Luopu Park is like a journey through Luoyang's history. Five thousand years of history, countless joys and sorrows, splits and reunions, have been imprinted on this vicissitudes of life. It's no wonder that the Northern Song Dynasty poet Sima Guang eloquently lamented, "If you want to know about the rise and fall of history, look no further than Luoyang City."
