Pearl Spring, located in Shuiye Town, Yindu District, Anyang City, comprises eight springs of varying sizes: Sword Drawing Spring, Horseshoe Spring, Wolong Spring, Heart Spring, Shaobai Spring, May Fourth Spring, May Eighth Spring, and Liuling Spring. In 1971, the Anyang Municipal People's Government designated the Pearl Spring Scenic Area as a key cultural relic protection site and a key tourist attraction.
Pearl Spring has a surface area of 1,234 square meters, an average annual flow of 1.48 cubic meters per second, an average annual inflow of 44.58 million cubic meters, and a spring area of 250 square kilometers. The western and northern mountainous areas are the recharge area, the central hills are the runoff area, and the spring is the inflow area.
Pearl Spring is primarily fed by atmospheric precipitation, with some water also supplied by upstream ditches. It is one of the main sources of water for the Huan River and the primary source of water for industrial and agricultural production and residents in Shuiye Town.
Enjoy a cup of tea brewed with Pearl Spring water in the elegant and beautiful Pearl Spring Scenic Area, a delightful and fragrant aroma. After his autumn visit to Anyang Pearl Spring, the modern poet Wang Wenkun left behind a poem that blends the scene and the mood: "A thousand ravines, crimson forests, autumn geese fly low; a clear spring flows west of Yecheng. The spring's light gleams like cold frost balls, the bubbles echo with the sound of jade grains." It's a great place to visit in all seasons.
Baimen Zhuzhao is hailed as the crowning of Anyang's eight scenic spots. The Yuan Dynasty poet Xu Youren once coined the poem: "People still live in the ancient town, and the village is surrounded by clear springs. Thousands of acres of bamboos stretch as far as the eye can see, and weeping willows stretch as far as half the sky..." The lake, formed by the springs, is surrounded by stone railings where one can observe the fish. A small peninsula extends into the lake, and on the island stands a pavilion. Next to the pavilion stands a thousand-year-old cypress. One of the trees has two trunks about five feet above the ground, interlocking at a distance of four feet, like a doorway. Visitors can bow their heads to pass through. Legend has it that passing through this doorway will prolong their lives. This cypress gate and the Pearl Springs are collectively known as Baimen Zhuzhao.
