Introducing Guanxiwei Scenic Area

Located in Guanxi Town, Longnan County, Jiangxi Province, the Guanxiwei Scenic Area showcases typical Hakka dwellings in southern Jiangxi. Comprising eight distinct Hakka walled houses, including Guanxixinwei, Xichangwei, Tianxinwei, and Penggaowei, the walls are known for their distinct styles. The main rooms within these walls are typical Hakka architectural features, and the intricate craftsmanship and rich in wood and stone carvings make them the most distinctive and precious Hakka dwellings in southern Jiangxi. They are a shining example of walled house architecture from Jiangxi, Fujian, and Guangdong, earning them the nickname "the Roman Castle of the East."

Guanxi Xinwei, a National AAAA-level tourist attraction and a National Key Cultural Relic Protection Site, boasts a history of over 200 years. Due to its grand scale and well-preserved architecture, it is the best-preserved Hakka walled village discovered in China and abroad, and the largest, most comprehensive, and most complete of the more than 500 existing Hakka walled villages in southern Jiangxi. In July 2000, it was designated as a fourth-batch provincial-level Key Cultural Relic Protection Site by the Jiangxi Provincial Government. In July 2001, it was designated as a fifth-batch National Key Cultural Relic Protection Site by the State Council, along with Yanyiwei.

The Guanxiwei Scenic Area is located near the stream. It is magnificent and well-arranged, forming a colorful and beautiful picture with green mountains, green waters, pavilions, arch bridges and orchards.

Subtropical humid monsoon climate; Guanxiwei Scenic Area is the most complete, structurally and functionally complete representative of the Hakka walled houses in southern Jiangxi discovered in China so far, and is suitable for travel in all seasons.
