Located in Guanxi Town, Longnan County, Jiangxi Province, the Guanxiwei Scenic Area showcases typical Hakka dwellings in southern Jiangxi. Comprising eight distinct Hakka walled houses, including Guanxixinwei, Xichangwei, Tianxinwei, and Penggaowei, the walls are known for their distinct styles. The main rooms within these walls are typical Hakka architectural features, and the intricate craftsmanship and rich in wood and stone carvings make them the most distinctive and precious Hakka dwellings in southern Jiangxi. They are a shining example of walled house architecture from Jiangxi, Fujian, and Guangdong, earning them the nickname "the Roman Castle of the East."

Due to its grand scale and well-preserved architecture, it is the best-preserved Hakka walled village discovered in China and abroad, and the largest, most comprehensive, and most complete of the more than 500 existing Hakka walled villages in southern Jiangxi. In July 2000, it was designated as a fourth-batch provincial-level Key Cultural Relic Protection Site by the Jiangxi Provincial Government.
