Dasi is a mountain village nestled deep in the Qinling Mountains, nestled on the Qinling watershed 62 kilometers south of Xi'an. Nestled deep in the mountains between Fengyu and Gaoguanyu, Dasi's remote location meant it wasn't until travelers discovered it that its secluded sanctuary was revealed.
Dasi Village, with only a few households, was also the official road from Guanzhong area to Ningshan County in ancient times. Here, the mountains are secluded and the valleys are quiet, the streams are gurgling, eagles fly in the sky, the city is prosperous and the valley is full of fragrance. Being in it is refreshing and all worldly worries are swept away.
The allure of Dasi lies in the dramatic drop from 2,600 meters to 600 meters above sea level, and the 120-mile, two-day hike that allows you to experience far more than meets the eye. It's a breathtaking scenic spot for hikers on their journey from novice to advanced, and a photographer's paradise.
It has a warm temperate semi-humid continental monsoon climate with distinct four seasons of cold, warm, dry and wet. The best time to travel is from May to October.
