This is the site where Emperor Xuanyuan cast the cauldron and ascended to heaven, as recorded in the "Records of the Grand Historian: Fengshan Book," the "Book of Han: Suburban Sacrifices," and the "Water Classic Notes." Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty built the Dinghu Palace here to commemorate the Yellow Emperor. In the 17th year of the Zhenyuan reign of Emperor Dezong of the Tang Dynasty, the "Inscription and Preface on the Founding of the Cauldron by Emperor Xuanyuan" was erected here.
