"To the east of Xining City, there are steep cliffs, thousands of feet high, and the Huangshui River flows in the middle. Thunder and arrows are flying. The mountain paths are narrow, and cars cannot have two wheels and horses cannot have two reins." Xiaoxia is one of the eight ancient scenic spots in Xining, "Shixia Qingfeng". Whenever pedestrians arrive at the gorge, the breeze blows gently, and all shame is eliminated, making people feel relaxed and happy.
Xiaoxia, located 15 kilometers east of Xining, is a beautiful and refreshing summer escape. Historically, Xiaoxia was renowned for its dangerous pass. In times of peace, it served as a thoroughfare connecting east and west; in times of turmoil, it served as a crucial barrier separating the two regions. During the Song Dynasty, Suiyuan Pass was built to control this crucial area, followed by Wuding Pass and De'an Pass during the Qing Dynasty. Today, a reinforced concrete arch bridge spans Xiaoxia from north to south, creating a smooth, polished road that welcomes a constant flow of pedestrians and vehicles. The perilous pass has been transformed into a thoroughfare. Even on scorching summer days, visitors arriving at the mouth of Xiaoxia, on either side of the Huangshui River, can still feel a cool breeze.
The plateau has a continental climate, with an average annual sunshine of 1939.7 hours, an average annual temperature of 7.6β, a maximum temperature of 34.6β, and a minimum temperature of -18.9β. It is a plateau alpine cold and temperate climate suitable for summer vacation.
It is one of the eight ancient scenic spots in Xining, "Stone Gorge Breeze". When pedestrians walk into the gorge, the breeze blows on their faces, and their sweat disappears, making them feel relaxed and happy. It is an ideal place to escape the summer heat.
It is recommended to play for about 3 hours.
