The Taiqing Scenic Area is located southeast of the Laoshan Scenic Area, 40 kilometers east of downtown Qingdao along Zhanliu Road. Named after the famous Taiqing Palace, the area is often referred to as the Taiqing Scenic Area.
These seven peaks block the cold air from the north. The bay to the south, called Taiqing Bay, receives warm, moist air from the sea, creating a subtropical climate. This is why people call it "Laoshan's Little Jiangnan." The unique geographical and climatic conditions, along with its long-standing Taoist culture, provide a favorable habitat for a variety of plants.
Visitors can see not only warm temperate plants but also a large number of subtropical plants, such as dense bamboo forests, verdant tea plantations, palm trees, magnolias, and red nanmu trees. Even more valuable is the large number of ancient trees growing here, making it the place with the highest density and largest number of ancient and famous trees in the entire Laoshan Scenic Area.
Qingdao is located in the northern temperate monsoon region and has a temperate monsoon climate with humid air, abundant rainfall, moderate temperature and distinct four seasons.
