Doumu Spring, one of Jinan's "Seventy-Two Famous Springs," was formerly known as Dougu Spring. It's located west of Doumuquan Village at the summit of Qingtong Mountain. Current status as of June 2012: The spring pool has been renovated and is now much cleaner. The ancient tree behind the spring has dried up, but new branches have sprouted at its base.
Doumu Spring (also known as Daquan because it's located in Daquan Village) is located on a cliffside in the village and is the highest of Jinan's 72 famous springs. Originally built during the Qing Dynasty, it was renovated in the 15th year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign. The spring is mentioned in the Qianlong Emperor's "Licheng Xuanzhi" and the Daoguang Emperor's "Jinan Fuzhi." Hao Zhigong's "Records of the Seventy-two Springs" from the Qing Dynasty refers to it as Dougu Spring, while the Republic of China's "Licheng County Local Survey Records" refers to it as "at the north summit of the Big Buddha Temple," implying that Doumu Spring is located at the north summit of the Big Buddha Temple in Jinxiuchuan Township.
Jinan has a temperate monsoon climate with obvious monsoons and distinct four seasons: dry and rainy spring, warm and rainy summer, cool and dry autumn, and cold and snowy winter.
