Shiwan Spring is located in front of the Baixue Tower at Baotu Spring, originally connected to the former. An ancient poem evokes the following: "Shiwan Pool connects to Kanquan Spring to the south, its clear stream gushing out with a sweeter taste. Flowers are drawn from the well and cooked in a stone cauldron; the magpie flowers bloom in the autumn, shrouded in evening mist." Shiwan Spring, an irregular bay paved with Taihu stone and boasting relatively gentle water, is particularly beautiful in spring. The reflections of the numerous blooming flowers and the quaint Baixue Tower nestled among the greenery add to its tranquil and elegant beauty.
Jinan has a temperate monsoon climate with obvious monsoons and distinct four seasons: dry and rainy spring, warm and rainy summer, cool and dry autumn, and cold and snowy winter.
