Bairen Beach, located approximately four kilometers northeast of Lingao County, lies on the lower reaches of the Wenlan River. Known as "Bairentou Beach" in the Ming Dynasty, it was once one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Lingao. The beach is home to numerous unusually shaped rocks, each resembling a cluster of human heads from afar, hence the name. The natural beauty of this area has attracted numerous celebrities throughout history, who have often visited to compose poetry and couplets, leaving behind numerous stone inscriptions along the shore.
The Wenlan River flows from south to north through this shoal. Due to the curvature of the riverbed, the current is turbulent, and when it encounters rocky obstacles, it cascades down into the Hundred-Ren Waterfall. Its waves are white and the roar is so resounding that it can be heard from Lingao County, ten miles away. This is the origin of the "Hundred-Ren Beach Sound." The environment is beautiful and the air is fresh. In the summer, you can enjoy the scenery while tracing the river, a refreshing and relaxing experience. Perhaps you'll even find yourself composing a poem.
