The Northeast Liberation Monument (Peace Square) is located at the intersection of Heping Avenue, Xinhua Road and Minzhu Road in Heping District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province.

It is a monument marking the 40th anniversary of the liberation of Northeast China. It stands majestically in the center of Peace Square. The total area of ​​this square is 18,521 square meters. It was built in 1932 and was called Chaori Square at that time. It was called Chongde Square during the Kuomintang rule. After liberation, it was named Peace Square.

The Northeast Liberation Monument is a triangular pavilion-style monument with a total height of 36.56 meters. The main monument is 25 meters high and designed in the shape of a deformed triangular bullet. The monument is decorated entirely with white marble. The lower three sides of the main monument are engraved with three connected English letters "V", and the relief is set off by 40 flying doves. "V" is the first letter of the English word "Victory", and doves are a symbol of peace.

The simple pattern symbolizes the dialectical relationship between war and peace and the cherishment, hope and good wishes of the people of the three provinces for peace.

On the outside of the main monument are three arches connected at the top and surrounding the main monument in a triangle shape downwards, symbolizing the joyful scene of the people of the three provinces singing and dancing to celebrate the victory and their respect and mourning for the heroes.
