It possesses both high scenic and scientific value. Also known as Huanglongquan, Huanglong Cave is said to have been a site of widespread drought during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. The renowned monk He Junru led his disciples into the cave to pray for rain, but all perished. Before his death, He Junru left a message: "Let the fields dry up, and don't disturb Huanglongquan." Since then, Huanglong Cave has been deserted. It is an integral part of the Zhangjiajie World Natural Heritage and Global Geopark, one of China's first AAAA-rated tourist destinations, and has been recognized as one of China's most beautiful and unique caves.
