
Dawu County, located in the western section of the Dabie Mountains in northeastern Hubei Province, is a nationally renowned county of generals, having nurtured over 100 high-ranking generals of the People's Republic of China, including Xu Haidong, Liu Huaqing, Nie Fengzhi, Zhou Zhijian, and Cheng Shicai. The former sites of the Central Plains Military Region Headquarters, the former sites of the New Fourth Army's Fifth Division Headquarters, and the Hubei-Henan Border Region Martyrs Cemetery have been selected as one of the 100 classic scenic spots for revolutionary cultural tourism in China.
Green tourism resources are distinctive, with sites like Xiangshuitan, Jiunvtan, Longtan Lake, Shibatan, Tiezhai, Zhuangbazhai, Leigutai, Tianzigang, and Niangniangding boasting not only stunning natural scenery but also captivating legends. Red tourism resources are also unique, with temples like Yongzong Temple, Guanyin Temple, and Dongfeng Nunnery attracting a constant stream of worshippers.

The Dashan Temple, the New Fourth Army 13th Brigade Command and Jiangjialouzi in Yangping Town, the Xu Haidong family tomb and Xu Haidong's former residence in Xujiaqiao in Xincheng Town, the former residence of General Zhou Zhijian and the Dawushan Stone Forest Scenic Area in Xiadian Town, the ancestral home of Li Yuanhong, Lijia Dayuan, and the Qingsongling Fruit and Tea Farm in Pengdian Township, the former residence of Yang Song in Sigu Town, the ancient houses and Fengwangdian Battle Site in Fengdian Town, etc., all these attractions are within the red leaf area.
Sigu Town Red Maple Leaf Scenic Area is celebrated for its autumn foliage, especially the red maple trees that create a picturesque landscape. It has become a popular seasonal destination for nature lovers and photographers.
Located in Sigu Town, Xiaogan, Hubei. Accessible by taxi or private car from Xiaogan city center. Some local buses reach nearby stops, followed by a short walk to the scenic area.
