Introducing Sandieling Waterfall
Sandieling Waterfall is located on a mountain west of Qiaotun, Xinling Village, Hurun Town, Jingxi County, 30 kilometers northwest of the county seat. The Nanning-Jingxi Highway passes at the foot of the waterfall. The waterfall is formed by the sudden plunge of the Liuzhu River over a cliff. The cliffs there are three-tiered, hence the name.
Sandieling Waterfall is one of the eight scenic spots in Jingxi. A Qing Dynasty poet, Cai Hongzun, wrote in a poem: "Split the green lotus, and the falling water is like a string of pearls. The cascading springs pour down in a hundred streams, like silk threads across the river. I come to visit this beautiful place, and it is like a painting."
There is also a legend about the waterfall. In ancient mythology, Nuwa was refining five-colored stones to repair the sky. Due to carelessness, a hole was created in the Milky Way, and the water from the Milky Way poured down. Nuwa was powerless to save the situation and could only watch and sigh. She randomly tapped the hole three times with her jade finger, and thus the beautiful Sandieling Waterfall was formed.
