The Confucius Temple scenic area is located in the central urban area of Nanjing. It is a place dedicated to and worshipped Confucius. It is China's first national highest institution of learning and one of the four major Confucian temples in China. It is a hub of ancient Chinese culture and a gathering place for the history and culture of Jinling. It was not only the cultural and educational center of Nanjing during the Ming and Qing dynasties, but also the largest cultural and educational building complex in the southeastern provinces.
Since ancient times, Confucius Temple has shone with enchanting splendor, resembling the crown of the Qinhuai River. With its rich cultural heritage and vibrant merchants, it has earned the reputation of being "the most beautiful place in the south of the Yangtze River." Hundreds of renowned military strategists, politicians, and writers, including Fan Li, Zhou Yu, Wang Dao, Xie An, Li Bai, Du Mu, and Wu Jingzi, have achieved immortal achievements and penned poems that will be passed down through the ages.
The current Confucius Temple is a landmark building on the banks of the Qinhuai River, with a strong commercial atmosphere. The temple is located in the center of several streets, surrounded by popular snacks and small commercial streets where you can shop and eat.
