Liuheng Island is located in the southern waters of Zhoushan, 7.5 kilometers west of Ningbo Beilun and less than 8 kilometers from Ningbo Beilun District. The island is named "Liuheng" because it has six ridges running from southeast to northwest, resembling a snake. Locals call it "horizontal," hence its name.
Liuheng Town is rich in tourism resources, with beautiful natural scenery such as beaches, cliffs, strange rocks, caves, reefs, and primitive vegetation. It has beautiful mountains and rivers, fresh air, abundant products, prosperous markets, simple folk customs, humid climate, and profound cultural heritage. It is an ideal place for vacation and leisure.
Liuheng Island has distinct seasons, so avoid traveling during typhoons.
Dragon head jump
The beach is as flat as a mirror, with rippling blue waves in front of it. On the sand hills beside the beach, there are towering ancient trees. The tree species are Pistacia chinensis and Sand Eleocharis chinensis, which are local characteristics of Zhoushan. There are hundreds of them. The diameter at breast height is more than 1 meter and the height is 20-30 meters. Each tree canopy provides shade for dozens of square meters. The age of the trees is more than 100 years. This ancient forest is connected with the ocean and the beach, which is rare in China.
Xuanshan Island
This is a magical feng shui treasure land. Strange peaks and rocks are a wonder of nature; steep cliffs are precipitous and mysterious; the ruins of the barracks are like a maze. The scenic area boasts attractions such as the leisure cabins, the Pangui Cliff, the Dragon King's Throne, the Buddha Lying on the Waves, the Twin Turtles Patrolling the Sea, and the Broken Ancient Trail. The fresh air is like a natural oxygen bar, and the blooming mountain flowers make it a paradise.
