Tengchong Volcano National Geopark is located in Tengchong and Lianghe counties in southwestern Yunnan Province. The park features ancient volcanic remains and associated geothermal springs. The park contains 97 volcanic bodies, 25 of which are well-preserved (including craters and cones), with a variety of cone types.

Tengchong's volcanic lava landscapes primarily include lava cavities, lava collapses, lava flows, and primary joints. Pyroclastic rocks include melt-agglomerated breccias, and ignimbrite tuffs. Volcanic bombs are particularly striking, including volcanic bombs, breccias, volcanic ash, pumice, and scoria. These bombs vary in shape, including spindles, breadsticks, and twisted shapes. Various volcanic cones, craters, lava terraces, and lava flow-dammed lakes are also prominent, forming a magnificent volcanic tourism landscape.
