The Majugou Great Wall is located 8 kilometers northeast of Sitaizui Township, Chongli County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. The wall forks on a hilltop southeast of the village, one branch heading north and the other southeast. The gentle slopes here make it a good place for farming and grazing.
The Majugou Village Great Wall is built of dry stone. Due to the gentle terrain, its width and height are greater than those found elsewhere. It has largely collapsed, now measuring approximately 20 meters wide at its widest point and over 2 meters high. Despite the high mountains, long distances, and inconvenient transportation, and the continued poverty in this area, it is precisely this very fact that has created the most natural and beautiful grassland Great Wall.
