Introducing the "Famous Mountains in the World" Archway

The Archway of Famous Mountains Under the World is one of the landmark buildings of Mount Emei. The archway was rebuilt in March 1993. The inscription "Famous Mountains Under the World" on the front was written by Guo Moruo in 1959 at the invitation of Mr. Li Daoxi, a painter from his hometown, and the inscription "Buddhist Holy Land" on the back was written by Zhao Puchu, the former president of the Buddhist Association of China.

The archway is 17.8 meters high and 22.2 meters wide, with four columns and three spans. It imitates the style of ancient architecture, with flying eaves and upturned corners. It is simple and elegant, with the style of Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is one of the largest archways in my country.
