Lhamo Latso, meaning "Lake of the Celestial Spirit" in Tibetan, holds a special place in the Tibetan Buddhist system of reincarnation and is revered by believers. The sacred lake reveals the future destiny of those who visit it, offering a devout gaze upon it, which reveals various visions of the future.
The reincarnations of the Dalai Lamas and Panchen Lamas of all generations in Tibet have determined the direction and principles of their search by observing the visions that appear in the holy lake. The lake is also a precious mirror for countless devout men and women to explore their own destiny.
There is an observation deck at an altitude of 5,300 meters. The road leading to the sacred lake is built about 300 meters away from the observation deck. The lake is 5,000 meters above sea level and is surrounded by high mountains. The weather here is changeable. Generally, people who watch the lake cannot speak and can only pray silently and wait for enlightenment.
Every year from April to June in the Tibetan calendar, many devout men and women come here to make pilgrimages and view the scenery. It is said that even if several people visit together, their views may be different. It is also said that one can see their own future in the reflection of the lake.
