Wanghailou Church, located on the north side of the west end of Shizilin Street in Hebei District, Tianjin, was formerly known as Our Lady of Victory Church. Built in 1859, it was the first church built in Tianjin after the introduction of Catholicism. Facing south, the church is a brick and wood structure with a stone foundation. Its three towers, shaped like a penholder from a distance, embody European Gothic architectural style.

The interior of the church features two rows of columns, without partitions or levels. Buttresses flank the entrance, and three corridors, the central one slightly taller than the side aisles, form a basilica. Eight columns support the arched ceiling on each side of the central tower's main hall. At the north end is the main altar dedicated to the Virgin Mary, with statues of Jesus and Judith on either side. Depictions of the Crucifixion of Jesus hang on the walls, and the entire building's ceiling and walls are decorated with colorful paintings.
