Yantian Village, located in the northwest of Wuyuan County, is the earliest settlement of the Li surnamed Li who migrated to Wuyuan from outside. The first settler was Li Deluan. The entry for "Li Deluan" in the Guangxu period's "Wuyuan County Chronicles: Resident Talents" records: "Li Deluan, courtesy name Kuanglu, was a man of exceptional talent. His ancestors, originally from the Tang Dynasty, fled the Huang Chao Rebellion to Huangdun in She County. From Huangdun, they moved to Jietian in Fuliang County, where Deluan first settled in Yantian, Wuyuan. At that time, Wu was under the jurisdiction of the Southern Tang Dynasty. In the second year of the Shengyuan reign (938 AD), an imperial edict was issued to select outstanding individuals, and officials appointed Li Deluan to the imperial court. He became famous throughout China and abroad, earning him a great reputation wherever he went. He rose to the rank of Imperial Attendant and was posthumously awarded the rank of Jinzi Guanglu Dafu. His descendants subsequently multiplied, producing numerous outstanding individuals." The "Wuyuan County Place Names" explains the origin of the village's name, as the Li family "got the fortune of following the field" and "ran their family with strict discipline," hence the name "Yantian."
During the reign of Emperor Zhenzong of the Song Dynasty (998-1022), a man named Li Pengju relocated to the lower reaches of the creek, forming Upper and Lower Yantian. A few years later, people with surnames like Zhu and Wang moved into the Yantian settlement. Today, Upper Yantian has a population of over 800, and Lower Yantian has about 500. The village is 38 kilometers from Ziyang Town, the county seat. It's about a 15-minute drive from the Rainbow Bridge at Tsinghua University in Wuyuan and about an hour's drive from Jingdezhen, making it the only way from Jingdezhen to Tsinghua University. It enjoys a prime location.
Subtropical monsoon climate;
On the small river under the stone bridge of Yancun, black-sailed boats carry people into the dream of Wuyuan. March is the season when rape flowers bloom, which is suitable for spring travel. Not only can you see rape flowers, but you can also enjoy the camphor scenery.
Water outlet
The most noteworthy feature of Yantian Village is its "Shuikou," a prominent example of ancient feng shui theory. Miao Xiyong's "Wings of the Book of Burial" describes the Shuikou as the gateway to a site, the source of all water.
Ship Trough Gorge
To the northeast of the village lies the "Chuancao Gorge." The Wuyuan County Chronicles record: "The mountain is exceptionally beautiful, with five large and small boat troughs. In the past, the troughs held water, and villagers used wooden boats to cross them. The stone screen at the top of the mountain is three miles wide, and beneath it lie two caves. It's said there's a hole inside the caves, leading to Poyang Lake."
