Introducing Bamboo Lake

Zhuzihu, located in Yangmingshan National Park, is nestled in a lakeside valley between Datun Mountain, Qixing Mountain, and Xiaoguanyin Mountain, at an elevation of approximately 600 meters. During the Japanese colonial era, it was a major area for cherry blossom cultivation and is the first place in Taiwan where Japanese cherry blossoms first appeared.

The topography of Zhuzihu Lake can be traced back to approximately 350,000 years ago, when lava from the eruption of Qixing Mountain blocked the mouth of a col. Accumulated rainwater formed a barrier lake, which later generations called the area "Lake." Gradually, erosion cut through the lake's edge, and the water gradually flowed out. Farmers then reclaimed the land for farmland, creating the agricultural landscape we see today.

　　In addition, the Bamboo Lake Calla Lily Festival is one of the annual events of Yangmingshan National Park. After the famous Yangmingshan Flower Festival, people can also go to Yangmingshan Bamboo Lake to participate in the grand Bamboo Lake Calla Lily Festival.
