Luding County is located in western Sichuan Province, between the Qionglai and Daxue Mountains. The Dadu River runs through the county from north to south. Luding County boasts a history of over 2,000 years. The "Luding Bridge," personally bestowed by Emperor Kangxi, is renowned both domestically and internationally for the Red Army's glorious victory there, making it a popular tourist attraction.
In addition, the "thousand-foot-high" Erlang Mountain, the "turbulent waves" of the Dadu River, the "wonderful" Hailuogou, and the "cold iron chain" Luding Bridge have formed the unique tourism resources of Luding.
Luding is a typical high mountain canyon area, but the river valley has distinct four seasons and a typical subtropical monsoon climate.
