Construction of the Ningshan Jiangkou Martyrs Cemetery began in June 1987. Located on the Zhoujiaping Diaolou Fort, across from the confluence of the Xunhe and Jianghe Rivers in Jiangkou Xiajie, the cemetery faces Jiangkou Street across the river. The cemetery is 74 meters long and 26 meters wide, covering a total area of 1,924 square meters. From Jiangkou Xiajie, cross the iron chain bridge along the Xiwan Highway and ascend the 237 steps to Zhoujiaping, where a rest pavilion is located midway.
Upon entering the cemetery's main gate, the towering Martyrs' Monument is immediately visible. Surrounding the monument is a square base measuring 7.1 meters on a side and 0.8 meters high. The base is surrounded by colorful painted railings, and each of the four exits features a three-step staircase. The base is 1.946 meters wide and 1.986 meters high, marking the year the martyrs died and the year the county party committee and government designated the Martyrs' Cemetery. The front of the base is inscribed with the heroic deeds of the three martyrs. The connection between the base and the main body forms a three-tiered tower, symbolizing the three martyrs. The monument stands 7.814 meters tall, and the front is prominently engraved with the fourteen characters: "Memorial to the Martyrs Zhang Wenjin, Wu Zuyi, and Mao Chuxiong." A three-dimensional five-pointed star with a diameter of 0.6 meters is adorned with a painted painted railing. The cemetery is surrounded by a wall of colorful painted railings.
Behind the monument is a rectangular flower bed. In the center of the flower bed is a 2.7-meter-diameter fountain, surrounded by a pedestrian path. Behind the fountain, in the center, is a 2.7-meter-diameter circular flower bed. Two pentagonal pavilions flank the flower bed, providing a resting place for visitors. In front and behind the pavilions are flower beds of white flowers and plants. At the end of the cemetery are the tombs of the three martyrs, surrounded by sweetgum trees, cedars, and cypresses, symbolizing the martyrs' eternal presence in people's hearts.
