The Anhui Province Yuanquan Hui Culture and Folk Museum is located in the Modern Agriculture Demonstration Park on Kexueyuan Road, Shushan District, Hefei City, Anhui Province. The museum was founded in 1981 and was approved by the Anhui Provincial Government as the first private museum in Anhui Province on June 29, 2003. Mr. Shi Shuqing, a famous contemporary scholar, historian and cultural relic appraiser, wrote the name of the museum.
The Anhui Yuanquan Hui Culture and Folk Museum currently houses nearly 60,000 cultural relics related to Anhui's history and culture, major events, political figures, couplets and plaques, the three types of Huizhou carvings, and folk customs. These artifacts have been exhibited numerous times both domestically and internationally, making it a dedicated museum dedicated to Anhui's local culture. Construction began in May 2007 on the museum, which covers an area of over 50 mu (approximately 16 acres). Currently, the museum boasts approximately 8,000 square meters of exhibition space and houses seven reconstructed Huizhou historical sites (the Young Lady's Building, the Horse Racing Building, the Official Hall, the Gate Archway, and the Road Pavilion). The museum officially opened to the public on May 1, 2009, and officially opened to the public in October 2011.
