Li Hongzhang's tomb is buried in Xia Xiaoying, Dongxiang, Hefei. Li Hongzhang was an important military and political official in the late Qing Dynasty. In order to commemorate him, the descendants of the Li family built a large-scale tomb next to his tomb.
Li Hongzhang's Hall of Appreciation is a general term for the buildings surrounding the tomb, encompassing the complex adjacent to the tomb. The existing Li Hongzhang Hall of Appreciation covers 14,000 square meters, with a building area of nearly 3,000 square meters. It is one of the best-preserved halls of appreciation for celebrities in China. It can be divided into three sections: the cemetery area in the west, the hall area in the middle, and the storage area in the east.
After the Cultural Revolution , only about 30 rooms of the Xiantang remained . It was declared a municipal cultural relic protection site in 1985 and opened to the public in 2003 after restoration and expansion. The restored Xiantang covers over 13,000 square meters, with a building area of nearly 3,000 square meters, making it one of the best-preserved and reconstructed Xiantang in China.
