Long layover and luggage
Hi. We have a long layover and want to go exploring. Possibly aquarium. Is there anywhere to store carry on bags while people go out and explore?
If you have a long layover in Atlanta and would like to explore the city, there are a few options for storing your carry-on luggage while you go out and visit places like the Georgia Aquarium. Here are some options to consider:
- ATL Airport Luggage Storage: The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) offers a luggage storage service called "Luggage Valet." This service is located in the domestic terminal and allows you to store your bags for a few hours or longer while you explore the city. It’s a convenient option if you're planning to take public transportation or a quick ride into downtown Atlanta.
- Bounce Luggage Storage: Bounce is a luggage storage network that partners with local businesses, such as hotels and shops, to offer luggage storage services around Atlanta. You can book a luggage storage spot in advance via their website or app, and there are multiple locations in or near the downtown area, including close to attractions like the Georgia Aquarium.
- Bagbnb: Similar to Bounce, Bagbnb is another service that allows you to store your bags at local businesses around the city. There are several participating locations in the downtown area, making it easy to drop off your carry-ons before heading out for a few hours.
- Hotel Concierge Services: If you have a hotel reservation or are willing to pay for a one-day stay, many hotels in the downtown Atlanta area offer luggage storage services. This is especially useful if you're exploring near hotels like those in or around the Centennial Olympic Park area, where the Georgia Aquarium is located.
Once your bags are safely stored, you can easily access downtown Atlanta’s top attractions such as the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca-Cola, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, or the Atlanta BeltLine. Public transit options like MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) also make it easy to get around the city, and most major attractions are easily accessible.
Just be sure to plan your time accordingly, as the Georgia Aquarium is quite large and could take several hours to explore, depending on how much time you have during your layover.
