First Time to KC..Country Club Plaza hotel

Hi,I love the idea of staying somewhere that is convenient to leave the hotel and walk around shops, etc but also want a nice, clean hotel without breaking the bank. Would like to keep it under $175 for the night of October 31. Deciding between 1) Hilton Kansas City Country Club Plaza 2) The Fontaine 3) Hampton Inn and 4) Springhill Suites. Any advice you can give me is appreciated or if you have another hotel suggestion. Thanks!

If you're looking for a hotel near Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, you're in luck, as the area offers several great options within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and attractions. The Country Club Plaza is one of Kansas City's most vibrant and scenic areas, so staying nearby is a great idea for a first visit. Here's a breakdown of the hotels you're considering and a few other options to help you make an informed choice:

1) Hilton Kansas City Country Club Plaza

  • Pros: The Hilton is one of the most well-known options in the area, offering a classic, upscale experience with easy access to the Plaza. It’s known for being clean, with a great location right across the street from the Plaza. The hotel has good amenities, including a pool, fitness center, and a restaurant.
  • Cons: Prices may fluctuate, especially around popular times like Halloween. Depending on availability, you might find it difficult to get a room under $175, but it’s worth checking.

2) The Fontaine

  • Pros: The Fontaine is a chic, upscale boutique hotel with a modern aesthetic and a fantastic rooftop pool and bar that offers great views. It’s located just a short walk from Country Club Plaza, so you'll have easy access to dining and shopping.
  • Cons: The Fontaine is often on the pricier side, especially for a weekend or special event. It may be hard to stay under $175 unless you find a special deal or lower-priced room option.

3) Hampton Inn Kansas City/County Club Plaza

  • Pros: Hampton Inn is a reliable, budget-friendly option that is well-rated for its cleanliness, comfort, and included breakfast. It’s a short walk to the Plaza, making it an excellent choice for those who want to be close to the action without breaking the bank.
  • Cons: It’s more of a standard hotel experience, with fewer upscale amenities compared to The Fontaine or Hilton. However, it’s still a solid option for a good night’s stay without high-end frills.

4) Springhill Suites by Marriott

  • Pros: Springhill Suites offers spacious, modern rooms with a mini-fridge and microwave, which can be great for families or those who need more space. It’s located a bit farther from the Plaza but still within walking distance. The hotel includes a fitness center, free breakfast, and parking, which could save you some extra money.
  • Cons: It’s a bit further from the Plaza compared to the others, so it might not be as convenient if you prefer being right next to the shopping and dining options. But the extra space might make up for it.

Other suggestions:

  • Hotel Kansas City: Located in a beautiful historic building, this hotel offers a unique atmosphere and a great location near the Power & Light District. It’s slightly farther from the Plaza but still a reasonable distance if you want a unique and boutique experience.
  • Residence Inn Kansas City Country Club Plaza: If you're staying longer or want the added benefit of a suite with a kitchenette, the Residence Inn offers spacious rooms with a full range of amenities. It’s a great option for longer stays and is close to the Plaza.

Conclusion:

If being close to the Plaza and keeping your budget in mind is the priority, the Hampton Inn or Springhill Suites are your best bets. If you're willing to stretch your budget a little for a more luxurious experience, the Hilton or The Fontaine are excellent choices, with easy access to shopping and dining. Ultimately, it depends on your preference for amenities and how much you're willing to spend for a closer location or upscale experience.

Enjoy your stay in Kansas City and have a great time exploring the Country Club Plaza!
