Paddleboaring

Where could we rent them on the beach and where would be a good place to paddle board? We don't want to transport them, but my 14 year old loves to paddle board.

Thanks!

It's great to hear that your 14-year-old loves paddleboarding! Kauai offers some excellent spots for paddleboarding, with rental options available right on the beach. Here's what you can look for:

Where to Rent Paddleboards:

  • Poipu Beach – This is one of the best areas on Kauai for paddleboarding. There are several places along Poipu Beach that offer rental equipment, including boards, paddles, and other water gear. Poipu Beach is calm and ideal for beginners or for those just looking to relax and enjoy the water.
  • Kauai Beach Boys – Located in the Kapa’a area, they offer beach rentals for paddleboards and other water activities. They are known for their excellent customer service and can help you choose the best gear for your needs.
  • Wailua River – While not a beach, the Wailua River offers a unique paddleboarding experience. It’s calm and peaceful, with beautiful scenery. You can rent paddleboards at Kauai Kayak Tours and explore the river with your family.
  • Hanalei Bay – If you’re in the north, Hanalei Bay offers board rentals right on the beach. The bay is often calm, making it another great place for paddleboarding. Several rental shops along the bay will provide boards and gear.

Best Places to Paddleboard:

  • Poipu Beach – The waters here are typically calm, making it perfect for paddleboarding. You can enjoy a relaxing time on the water with beautiful views of the coastline and even see some marine life.
  • Hanalei Bay – If you’re looking for a stunning location, Hanalei Bay is perfect for paddleboarding. The bay is large and offers calm waters, and you can paddle right up to the stunning Na Pali coastline. It’s also a great place for seeing turtles and other wildlife.
  • Wailua River – For a more tranquil and scenic experience, the Wailua River is a great spot to explore by paddleboard. The river is calm, and you'll paddle through lush tropical vegetation. It’s a peaceful alternative to the ocean if you’re looking for a serene paddleboarding experience.
