Hello, we just were able to get some tickets for the USS Arizona for later today. I know this is short notice, but we have a rental car and are coming from KoOlina. Where do I park for the tour? It looks like it is before that long bridge. If so, is there a shuttle that takes us to the main area? Thanks so much!
Aloha! Great to hear that you secured tickets for the USS Arizona Memorial. When coming from Ko Olina, parking for the USS Arizona Memorial and the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center is located just before the entrance to the memorial site, and there are a few key options for parking and getting to the tour area:
1. Pearl Harbor Visitor Center Parking:
The main parking lot for the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center is located directly across from the entrance to the site, before the bridge leading to the memorial. This is the primary lot for visitors, and it offers free parking. However, it can fill up quickly, especially during busy hours, so it’s always a good idea to arrive early if possible. The lot is within walking distance of the visitor center and the USS Arizona Memorial shuttle dock.
2. Shuttle Service:
Yes, there is a free shuttle service provided by the National Park Service that runs between the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center parking lot and the USS Arizona Memorial shuttle dock. Once you park, you can board the shuttle that will take you across the bridge to the memorial. The shuttle runs regularly, so you won’t have to wait long.
3. Timing and Arrival:
Since your tickets are for a later time today, be sure to arrive at least 30–45 minutes before your scheduled tour time to allow for parking, getting through security, and boarding the shuttle. The tours are timed, so it’s important to arrive with some extra time to spare to ensure you don’t miss your scheduled spot.
4. Additional Parking Options:
Once you’ve parked, the USS Arizona Memorial tour is a short shuttle ride away, and you’ll get to enjoy an informative and emotional experience at this historic site. I hope this helps, and enjoy your visit!
