Where to stay for a first time family visitor!
My husband and 11 yo daughter are planning our first visit to Atlanta. We are looking for lodging and I need help! We like to have 2 rooms when we travel and the ability to do laundry since we will be staying a week. Seeing a Braves game, checking out the Aquarium, etc. Please give me all the recommendations you have for lodging!!
Atlanta is a fantastic city for a family trip, and there are plenty of lodging options that will suit your needs for a week-long stay. Since you’re looking for two rooms and the ability to do laundry, there are several hotels that cater to families and offer convenient access to the main attractions, including the Braves game, the Georgia Aquarium, and more. Here are some great recommendations:
- Homewood Suites by Hilton Atlanta Downtown – This hotel is a great family-friendly option with spacious suites that include kitchenettes, which is handy for longer stays. It also offers laundry facilities and is within walking distance to attractions like the Georgia Aquarium, Centennial Olympic Park, and the World of Coca-Cola. It's an ideal choice for families who prefer a more home-like atmosphere during their stay.
- Embassy Suites by Hilton Atlanta at Centennial Olympic Park – Located in the heart of downtown, this hotel offers two-room suites, which would be perfect for your family. They also provide a free breakfast and have an indoor pool, which could be fun for your daughter. It's close to both the Georgia Aquarium and the Braves stadium (a short drive or MARTA ride). The hotel also has a laundry facility, making it a good option for longer stays.
- Staybridge Suites Atlanta - Midtown – If you’re looking for a place that feels more like a home away from home, Staybridge Suites offers spacious rooms with full kitchens, and the option for two-bedroom suites. They also have an on-site laundry room. The location is great for visiting the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Piedmont Park, and it's just a short drive to the Aquarium and Braves games.
- Residence Inn by Marriott Atlanta Downtown – This is another excellent option for extended stays, offering suites with kitchens and laundry facilities. The Residence Inn is close to several key attractions, including the Georgia Aquarium and the College Football Hall of Fame. The rooms are spacious, and the hotel offers family-friendly amenities like a complimentary breakfast and an indoor pool.
- Atlanta Marriott Marquis – For a more traditional hotel experience, the Marriott Marquis in downtown Atlanta is a great choice. While it doesn't offer kitchenettes, it does have spacious rooms and a laundry facility. It's located close to attractions like the Georgia Aquarium, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park. Plus, the hotel features a large indoor pool and family-friendly dining options.
For visiting the Braves game and other attractions like the Aquarium, most of these hotels are centrally located, which makes getting around easy. You'll also find plenty of family-friendly activities nearby, including the College Football Hall of Fame, the Children's Museum of Atlanta, and the SkyView Atlanta Ferris wheel, which offers great views of the city.
If you're looking for convenience, comfort, and laundry facilities, these options should give you a great base for your family trip to Atlanta. Enjoy your visit!
