Is this worth it?

Trying to determine if this is worth it. Have a VIP package for the Venetian but because staying there Thursday is $537 vs one night at Treasure island for $121. Part of the VIP pkg is transportation from the airport, however it will only drop off at the Venetian - so we were thinking of taking it to the Venetian and walking across the street to Treasure island. Is that just me being way too cheap? Is it even safe to cross the street to do it? Or should I just get a cab from the airport? Hate wasting money by not using the transportation

It sounds like you're trying to make the most out of your VIP package and save some money, which is understandable! Here's a breakdown to help you decide whether walking across the street to Treasure Island is a good idea or if you should just take the cab:

  • Cost Savings vs. Convenience: The difference in price between staying at the Venetian ($537) and Treasure Island ($121) is quite significant, so saving that money might be appealing. However, the VIP package you have likely offers more than just transportation; it might include extra perks that make the higher price more valuable. For example, VIP check-in, room upgrades, and other amenities could offset the price difference.
  • Safety and Ease of Walking: Crossing the street in Las Vegas, especially in the busy Strip area, is usually safe, but there are a couple of things to consider. The intersection you're referring to (Venetian to Treasure Island) can be a busy one, but it's a well-traveled area with crosswalks and pedestrian signals. Just make sure to use the crosswalks and be aware of traffic. It’s not dangerous, but it can be crowded. The walk should only take a few minutes, so it's not too inconvenient.
  • Convenience of Transportation: The airport transportation drop-off at the Venetian will save you some hassle, but it may not be the most efficient if you're planning to walk to Treasure Island. However, since the distance is short, it's probably more about your preference for saving the $16–$20 for a cab (depending on surge pricing) vs. the convenience of just hopping in a cab directly from the airport. Also, if you decide to walk, you might still need to consider the effort of hauling luggage through the crowds and across the Strip.
  • Should You Just Get a Cab?: If you feel like saving the time and hassle of walking and don’t mind spending a little more, getting a cab is a perfectly valid option. It will drop you directly at Treasure Island and make the transition smoother, especially if you have luggage. Plus, you avoid the risk of being delayed or dealing with the Strip's sometimes hectic foot traffic.

Recommendation: If you’re up for a short walk and don’t mind navigating the crowds, walking from the Venetian to Treasure Island can save you a few bucks, and it’s generally safe to cross the street. However, if you want to maximize convenience and avoid any hassle, taking a cab from the airport might be a more relaxed choice, even if it costs a little more. Ultimately, it comes down to how much value you place on comfort vs. saving the extra cash.

Hope this helps, and enjoy your time in Vegas!
