What time would you say it gets busy?

Hello all,

Next weeks trip will be different for us as we will be staying on the strip for 2 weekends, as that is how the comps fell. Usually stay on strip midweek and move offstrip for weekends.

As usual I have been watching vlogs to get in the mood. What comes across is that people gamble in the afternoon, then go back to room/have tea and then go back into the casino and say how busy it suddenly is. But they never seem to say what time that is. As someone who doesn't like crowds, we will probably call it a night when it gets too busy - but anyone have any idea at what time this would be? With jetlag will probably be back in the room at about 8pm anyway the first few days.......

In Las Vegas, the casino floor tends to get busier in the evening, particularly after dinner time, and that’s when you’ll notice more crowds. The general pattern is that people often gamble in the afternoon, take a break for dinner or a rest, and then return to the casino floor in the late evening when things start to pick up.

Typically, the busiest times are:

  • 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM: This is when you'll start to see the casinos filling up, especially as people return after dinner or after attending shows. The energy really picks up during this time, and many of the popular slots and table games tend to have long lines.
  • 10:00 PM to Midnight: The crowd continues to grow during this time, particularly as more people arrive at the casinos after their shows or evening activities. At this point, it can get crowded, especially in larger resorts and well-known casinos.
  • Midnight to 2:00 AM: By this time, the crowd will typically start to thin out a bit as many visitors begin to call it a night. However, weekends (Friday and Saturday nights) can remain busy well past midnight, particularly at bars and clubs within the resorts.

So, if you prefer to avoid the crowds, it’s a good idea to wrap up your casino experience before 7:00 PM, and it sounds like with your jet lag, you'll likely be heading back to your room around that time anyway. The earlier part of the evening is definitely quieter, with the busiest period happening after dinner. During the mid-afternoon (around 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM), things tend to calm down again, so that could be another good time to take advantage of a quieter atmosphere.

Hope this helps, and enjoy your trip to Las Vegas!
