EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: In the interest of public safety, the outer 45 feet of Mallory Square are closed to all traffic, including foot traffic.
An assessment of this “wharf” area of the square shows that there is some deterioration. With the utmost caution and concern for public safety, the City of Key West is barricading off the area from the planters to the edge.
Residents and visitors can still enjoy our beautiful sunset and the vendors that make up the celebration. However, it will be moved back from the water’s edge.
