Blue Heaven
Hey all. Would like to check out blue heaven this trip. We have never been there. Want to do breakfast. How far before they open do you recommend getting there? I hear it gets busy. Also do they have a bar where you could just hang out and have a drink at night? thank you.
Blue Heaven is one of Key West’s most iconic spots, known for its laid-back Caribbean vibe, outdoor seating, and great breakfast. It does get busy, especially on weekends, so planning ahead is a good idea.
Breakfast Timing:
- Blue Heaven typically opens around 7:30 AM (times can vary, so check their website or call ahead for the day of your visit).
- For a weekend visit, arriving 20–30 minutes before opening is recommended if you want a good table without a long wait. On weekdays, getting there right at opening usually works fine.
- They have a popular outdoor area with roosters roaming freely, which adds to the experience but also draws more visitors, so early arrival ensures a prime spot.
Bar and Evening Experience:
- Blue Heaven does have a bar area and serves cocktails, so you can hang out in the evening for drinks.
- The atmosphere at night is more relaxed and less crowded than breakfast, making it a nice spot for a casual drink, although it’s not a nightclub or high-energy venue.
- Evening drinks allow you to enjoy their outdoor seating and Key West charm without the breakfast rush.
Additional Tips:
- The menu is extensive, so breakfast is highly recommended—their pancakes, eggs Benedict, and Key lime dishes are particularly popular.
- Cash is accepted but most cards are fine; sometimes lines move faster if you’re ready to pay quickly.
- If you want to maximize your experience, consider combining breakfast with a short walk around Bahama Village nearby before the Key West streets get busy.
Overall, arriving slightly before opening gives you the best chance for a relaxed breakfast experience, and stopping by in the evening for drinks is a casual and enjoyable option.
